Retaining horizontal target lines in vertical column graphs after filtering in pivot charts

Hi,
I'm trying to create a pivot chart that has vertical columns and also a horizontal line signifying the target. I create this target line by using a stacked line against clustered columns.
However, I seem to be having trouble retaining these horizontal lines after applying a filter. With no filters applied on the pivot chart, I am able to add this line fine as a stacked line. However, the moment I apply a filter these lines disappear (e.g. filtered by status as complete vs. (All - complete + incomplete)).
I even tried applying the filter before hand in my data and pulling a pivot chart off that.. but even then when changing chart types to a stacked line they do not appear!
Is anybody able to help with this please? How can I add horizontal lines to vertical clustered columns in filtered pivot charts?
