Hi all, sorry if this has already been covered or is overly simple.

If I have a simple table in power pivot structured as follows

Column 1, Column 2
Value 1, Description 1
Value 2, Description 2
Value 3, Description 3

I would like to return the value to a cell (like a vlookup)

So it cell value is "Value 1", I would like to return "Description 1"

Thanks in advance!

thats interesting, the normal (and easier) way would be to have a description in a cell and return the value from powerpivot. If you need to return the descripton you need to get it first in the values area of your pivot table. You can do that with following measure

IF(COUNTROWS(VALUES(Table1[Colums2])=1,VALUES(Table1[Column2]),blank())

Put the column1 in the rows of te pivot and the measure in the value field.

Make a copy of that pivot and go to options->OLAP tools->convert to formulas

This will change every row, measure and filter of your pivot to a formula in an Excel cell. The cell with the CUBEMEMBER formula for Column1 you can (in most cases) overwrite with value 1... and the cell with the CUBEVALUE formula will return the description
