=IF(SUMPRODUCT(--('F:\INTERVAL FOLDER\EVEN ODD\DOW\1\[2020.xlsb]Master'!$S$5:$S$12=$W5),--('F:\INTERVAL FOLDER\EVEN ODD\DOW\1\[2020.xlsb]Master'!$AE$5:$AE$12='F:\INTERVAL FOLDER\EVEN ODD\DOW\1\[2020.xlsb]Master'!$B$8)),"x","")

='F:\INTERVAL FOLDER\EVEN ODD\DOW\MAX SHEETS\[MAX SHEET 1.xlsb]MASTER'!$D$54

The formulas above I have been using to return values from a closed file. The closed file is updated daily since it is linked to another file. I was just wondering if there is a variation of the formulas above that would return the updated value from the closed file without first having to open and save that file since opening that file is time consuming on a daily basis. Any suggestions preferably without VB? I appreciate any input.

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
maybe Power Query (Get&Transform) with From Workbook feature
in this case from: F:\INTERVAL FOLDER\EVEN ODD\DOW\1\2020.xlsb
