Rotating axis text in pivot charts.

Greetings!

I'm working on identifying our high use/order items. I created a pivot chart with: items, date, quantity. I want to be able to have the text for the items and the date to be vertical instead of horizontal. Currently only the "item" or the "date" text is vertical. It changes by the order they are listed in the axis box.
The reason I'm looking to have them both be vertical is because some dates only have a couple of items and the date text overlaps and is illegible. Ideally I'd like the "item" text to be vertical and the "date" to be slightly angled like at 55 or 125 degrees.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
Hi Surveza,

Right Click on the Axis and choose Format Axis.

Then find the Alignment area (depends on your version)

Then Change Text Direction to Rotate All Text 270 degrees.

Note that this will work only on the top level if you are utilizing the "Multi-Level Category Labels" feature of the chart. (i.e. if you have a grouped axis)

Thank you Steve=True!

This allowed me to change the top labels. However I have the date as the bottom label and they are still horizontal and overlapping. How do I group them? I'm using 2013.

Thanks again for all the help!!

Hi Surveza,

Sorry, but there is not an option (I kinda think it is a bug) for this.

Only options would be to shrink the font and/or change the formatting of the date number so that it fits better.

Sorry :(
