Rounding to 500

Hello.
I can use either CEILING or FLOOR to run a number to the nearest 500, but how can I round it up if the last digits are 250 (or 750) and down if less?

=IF(MOD(A1,500)>=250,CEILING(A1,500),FLOOR(A1,500))

Try:

=ROUND(A1/500,0)*500

Further to my earlier answer you can of course put a cell address into the formula not just hard key the number.
