Saving outlook emails

I am trying to clear up my inbox by filing client related emails on the server under a specific subdirectory in the client's name. However, I notice that no matter when the emails were received or sent, windows dates them all at the same date and time when they were transferred. Also, as most emails have the name e.g."Re:stupid questions from Riaz", windows asks to overwrite existing files.

Does anyone have a trick to (a) retain the date and time of the original mail and (b) to get windows to rename the files in sequence, i.e., "Re:stupid questions 1", "Re:stupid questions 2" and so on.

Kind regards

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
SOLVED Re: Saving outlook emails

I have found a solution. It is a proprietary software, not expensive, so that is the solution I am going to go for.

couldnt you just store emails into a PST file on the server? that will keep everything intact.

That's everything in one big file. We keep client correspondence in separate sub directories by client name, then further subdivided by subject. Hence the need for a solution that retains the original date and the attachment. This software I found also allows you to append sender and receipient names, so there is that much more info in the file name.
