Scrolling won't stop

Hello,
I was working in excel on a rather large spreadsheet. For no apparent reason the screen started scrolling to the lowest right hand cell; some zillion cells away from where I was working. I tried to navigate back to the area in which I was working, and the thing started scrolling again. I closed and opened the program several times, but every time it automatically starts scrolling to the last lowest right hand cell.

What is happening?

This sounds funny but in my case that was some dirt stack in my mouse sensor.
I have an optic mouse and the debris must have been somewhere on the left hand side causing my excel spreadsheet to behave funny.
Look at this or on your keypads (left, right, top, down) there may be something there.
