Hi All

I have a sheet called MAIN PAGE. I am trying to write a formula in cell C5.

I want to look on a sheet called 1ST in column A:A(has dates) and find a match for MAIN PAGE G2(has a date), once it finds the match I want to display the contents of 1ST column D from the same row in MAIN PAGE C5.

I have similar formula that work but now dates seem to be involved I cannot get it to work.

all help and pointers gratefully received.

Dave

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney

Hi Squidd
the following should do it.

Code:
=VLOOKUP(G2,'1st'!A:G,4,FALSE)

However, vlookups using what looks like dates can have hidden traps. You need to be sure you are dealing with dates on both sides of the lookup and not a date time combination formatted as a date.
