Im trying to do a formula to separate in the same column any cell with colored data.

Col A has Name of person
Col B-H has times i.e. 0800-1630 or 0600-0230
Cell B50 has formula =counta(b1:b49)
Cell B51 has formula =counta(b1:b49,"=off")

How would I separate any times that are in the color font blue from the black font.

Lets say col. B1-B20, B41, B44,45,46 have times in black font and B21-B40,42,43,47,48,49 are in blue font. What formula or macro should be used?

Any ideas?

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
Hi - what do you mean by "separate"? How did the cells get their coloour - manually? Conditional formatting? If manually, is there a 'rule' to when they get coloured?

They are selected randomly. The color of font is changed at the toolbar font color. I manually click in the cell that I want to be in blue. Basically I need the count on all the times in black font and all the times that in the blue font.

I have not tried conditional formatting. I will try that in the mean time.

To count / sum by colour when the cells are coloured 'randomly', you'll be best off with a VBA solution - see the VBA pages on:

http://www.ozgrid.com/

...Dave has some 'sum & count by colour' examples...
