Hi, can anyone help me out, I need a formula that will work out the check digit for shipping containers, basically they have 4 alpha and 6 numerical chrs then a 7th check digit for example:

SCFU205537 0

All I can tell you is that each of the alpha chars has a number value so too all of the numerical ones as well, I have been searching the net but haven't been able to locate any info.

If anyone knows or has the formula it would be great to hear from you.

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
What is your check digit generation rule?
As uou said"each of the alpha chars has a number value so too all of the numerical ones as well",please list the corresponding number value for all the characters.
