columnA | columnB
001 | 001
002 | 005
006 | 006

in columnC:
1. if columnA = columnB, show columnA value which is 001
2. if columnA <> columnB, show both column value as 002-005

Thanks.

Thanks dude.

Another question, anyway i can make it look 002-005? I have set the cell format to 000. For the 1st 001 it show fine. But for the 2nd, it show as 2-5. I would want to to show as 002-005.

Thanks.

Assuming you will eventually get to double figures, meaning you can't add 00 to the "-" part of the formula :

One way would be a helper column for column B with the Formula =text(B1,"000") and have the IF Formula reference the helper column rather than Column B

There are likely other ways to achieve this, i throw it open to the forum!

Hi
try

=If(A1=B1,Text(A1,"000"),Text(A1,"000")&"-"&Text(B1,"000")
