simple problem

i have two columns type and price. the type is about six to choose from ie. adult, family, student, country, retired, junior and prices of 75, 50, 12, 30, 20, 40 and i have a grand total for them. but i need to filter the types a prices and get seperate totals. any one got any idea

You could either create a pivot table using the information in your table Date->Pivot table

or you could sort the table by type and then use Data->Subtotal to get subtotals.

All depends on the format you want and whether you want to change the order of the table or not.

The SUMIF() function would work as well. =SUMIF(RangeOfThingsToBeExamined,CriteriaToBeMatched,RangeOfValuesToTotal)
