I dont know what I am doing wrong, but its frustrating as hell! I have plenty of excel experience, but this one has me stummped. Im using the sum formula =SUM(G3:G30), and it will NOT display the total in that colum. It only displays the formula. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
1. Make sure the cell is formatted as General or Number (BEFORE Entering the formula)
2. Tools - Options - View - UNcheck "Formuals"

Hope that helps..

The formatting for the cell with the formula is more than likely set to Text. Change the format of the cell to general and re-enter the formula and it should work like a charm.

Oh jonmo, I'm beat'd again. :P

Hi

Either the cell is formatted as Text (in which case you need to convert to General number format and reenter the formula), or under Tools>Options>View in the Windows Options section you have Formulas checked.
