I have the following three columns that I found as a way to figure out which numbers add up to a target sum figure (this is purely for illustration purposes as I'm trying to get to the bottom of what's wrong):

 Data Multiplier Product 12 1 12 31 1 31 4 1 4 5 1 5

<tbody>
</tbody>
I then sum the "Product" column. It equals 52.

I then enter my goal of 43.

I then take the difference, which begins at -9.

Finally, using Solver, I say I'd like what's now -9 to have a value 0. I set constraints for the multiplier column to be 0<=multiplier<=1 and the multiplier must be an integer.

Unfortunately, I run it and it says it cannot find a "feasible solution" and I'm unsure why.

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).

Hi,
Set up the constraint as binary (0 or 1). That is simpler (then you only need four constraints). But to answer your question it does work for me so maybe you have some other error in your problem?
