i am working in Excel 2007. I installed on a new computer, i only installed Excel from the installation. I 'explicitly' installed Solver, "run from this computer" (this was on 2nd try installation) and also made sure VBA and Shared Office Tools were installed as well.
I have the Solver addin, Solver.XLAM and Solver32.DLL in the \Library\SOLVER folder but when i try to select Solver from addin dialogue box i get the message.
"Excel cannot access the file, "C:|ProgramFiles\...\Office12\Library\SOLVER". here is a screenshot.
i have uninstalled and reinstalled MS Excel, i have restarted my computer at least 6x, i have restarted Excel at least 10x and i still cant get excel to install the addin or use the addin Solver, even though it seems the file and location are proper. Any similiar experiences?? thanks
