I am looking to sort data, the data set is below

002
003
006
007
008
020
022
032
01B
01C
01D
04B

<colgroup><col width="64" style="width:48pt"> </colgroup><tbody>
</tbody>
I want to sort by the first digit then the second then the third so the result would look like this
001
002
003
006
007
008
01B
01C
01D
020
022
032
04B

I'm not understanding the question, I guess. This is a normal ASCII sort, and it's what Excel will do automatically ... as long as you sort everything as text.

Use a Helper column.

in B1
=RIGHT(TEXT("00"&A1,"000"),3)

Now sort on column B
