Spreadsheet pipeline calculator

Hi
I have taken over responsibility for a quotations spreadsheet, where we list quotes issued and show a reference number if the quote converts to a sale.

Whilst the spreadsheet does this well, it does not automatically calculate the remaining (or not yet converted quotes) to show as a potential sales pipeline!

The converted quotation is recorded in a separate column as a sales number. From reading the guide to Excel, I thought that if the sales record column was initially filled with "0"'s, I could use an If question "if cell L10 >0" for true the then equation would deduct the converted sales value from the total column value. Obviously if false, no action would be taken.

So far I have tried this, without success. Can anyone help?
