Hello,
I remember the old time when I tried to use SQL queries on Excel 2003 tables.
This was possible but mainly from one workbook to another, otherwise there were problems which I do not remember well. Using SQL queries from one workbook to another one also caused problems when moving files from a folder to another because the path was hard coded by Microsoft Query. All in all, I gave up this idea.
Today, as I am using Excel 2010 more and more, I wonder if there is progress on this topic.
Have some of you tested any possibility to use SQL queries within an Excel workbook?
Alternatively, have you found other ways to manipulate data in Excel without "micro-controlling" the logic on the individual cell level? Maybe LINQ in a VSTO project? Maybe something simpler?
Thanks for your suggestions,
Michel
