Standard Deviation of a Difference

Was curious to find out if there is a way to find the standard deviation of the difference between two columns of numbers within a single cell without using VBA. Any help is much appreciated.
 

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
Sort by date Sort by votes
=stdev(b1:b10 - a1:a10)

... confirmed with Ctrl+Shift+Enter
