I am running subtotals on 5 columns of data with the sum on $ amount. When I get the subtotals, I need to delete the detail but retain data from the first columns (ck#, Ck date, bank and vendor) on the subtotal line.

Ideally what the end result will be is a subtotal of the amount paid detail with the columns A-D retained in the subtotal column so I can copy the subtotals to a new spreadsheet with totals of the check / check date / vendor paid not lost or copied and pasted individually for each subtotal line.

Thanks!
L.

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
