Hi,

I am in a small bind and cannot recall how to sum multiple cells based upon criteria that references both a column and row. For example, I want to sum all values located within cells with column value of P (of variables P, M, S) and row value of 2009 (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014). Unfortunately this information is captured in many tables on the same spreadsheet, and does not follow any consistent pattern (e.g. one data set starts in 2007 and another 2009), but all use the P, M, S variables. Any help would be super and thanks in advance.

Regards,
The Novice

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
Are you saying that there are multiple columns ( how many exactly? ), and some of them are headed P, some are headed M, and some are headed S, in no particular order?
