Sum range

In cell a1 I have date 1/1/20
In cell a2 I have date 1/1/21


In col b I have dates from 1/1/15 to 1/1/21
In col c I have numbers adjacent to dates in col b

I want a formula that will sum the contents of col c according to the dates defined in cells a1 and a2 (which will vary depending on the query)
