Sumif Dynamic Range

Ok. So I am at a loss. I really need some formal vba training but for now... I am trying to use a formula on a dynamic Range. Here's what I tried but it didn't work. Below is a partial spreadsheet of what I am working with. I have to sum in the gray cells. The formula below was going to be used in A7. I needed to add the rows above. In this example the total should be $-10,324. My idea was to actually start at the bottom so that I could use End(xlup) to get the correct range b/c there will be 4 totals in each section. I hope this makes sense. Also, how to I get this table to look better inside of this thread? Thanks!!

Ok. So it comes back with totals now but the problem is that it is not totalling the correct cells. It is currently showing =SUMIF(A1:A17,"<0") and should be =SUMIF(A12:A17,"<0") in the actual cell so it appears that the StartRow is not right.

Or are there Totals in the previous groups?

Yes it looks just like that. No totals. Those rows are blank. I am not sure why the xlup is not working.

It is still adding the entire column. I even started a new column to make sure there were not hidden characters. What does the - 1, 1 in the StartRow represent?

The - 1 Sets the Row to the Row before the ActiveCell.
Else the End(xlUp) will not work correctly.

I have done this and I'm unsure why it isnt working.
