Hi, I am possibly using the completely wrong formula or it is not possible to do what I want.

Basically I am trying to Sumif the number based on the month, so for example the month of October I am expecting the number of 75 but am only getting 15, as the formula is just adding row 3 column C:E and not all the rows from 3-28.

Can someone please explain what I am doing wrong or what I should be doing?

Thanks

How about
Excel Formula:
=SUMPRODUCT((C2:AG2=B30)*(C3:AG28))

Thanks Fluff.

I presume the fact SumIf was not working is because SumIf cannot add multiple columns but can add multiple rows.

As I understand it, the sumif function will only add cells in the same size range as the criteria range, any other cells will be ignored. It is also volatile when the ranges are not the same size.
