I've a spreadsheet with data in 1 column listing internet download/upload speeds. So for example,

5/1
10/2
25/5

I'd like to sum the numbers in front of the /, and the numbers after the /, and keeping the same form, put the sum in one cell. In this example, it would sum to 40/8.

Is this possible?

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the help Jeff and Scott, much appreciated!
Hello again. I just realized the formula I'm using doesn't account for filtering, that is, when I filter the data my formula doesn't update.

The formula I'm using is SUM(--TEXTBEFORE(N2:N6892,"/",,,,0))&" / "&ROUNDUP(SUM(--TEXTAFTER(N2:N6892,"/",,,,0)),0).

I've tried replaced the SUMs with SUBTOTAL

Can you help?

Please try this. Create another helper column that detects if each row is visible or not. Use the formulas below

Book11
GHIJ
2DateVisible40/8
35/11
410/21
525/51
Sheet1
Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
J2J2=LET(FltrRng,FILTER(G3:G5,H3:H5=1),SUM(--TEXTBEFORE(FltrRng,"/"))&"/"&SUM(--TEXTAFTER(FltrRng,"/")))
H3:H5H3=SUBTOTAL(103,G3)
