Hey all

I know this is an excel forum but I've been lurking for a while and I need help with some text issues.

I need the ability to take out from a text file any lines which start with a certain text and put those lines into a separate document. All the lines I want start with the text
Code:
 | | Chat:
and I want only those lines taken into a new text document.

Any ideas?

Waterfall charts in Excel?
Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.
Hi
Welcome to the board

Not enough information, but maybe:

- open the file
- use autofilter and filter the lines that contain "chat:"
- select the visible rows and copy them elsewhere

pcg01 - I'm actually embarrassed not to have thought of that myself - works perfectly.

taurean - thanks. I'll take a look at that to see if I can streamline the process.
