Text box value not changing

Hi,

I have couple of regular text boxes (Insert/Shape) linked to cells through formulas.

When the values change in the cells, I would like the new values to be diplayed in the text boxes automatically.

In some cases the text box values are not refreshed unless I click on the text boxes with a mouse.

Thanks a lot,

MV

Hi Andrew,

I am using Excel 2007.

I am sure in Excel 2003 this worked just fine.

I have numbers in cells A1, A2, A3 (e.g. A1 = 5).

I have 3 text boxes underneath, each linked to the respective cell (e.g. textbox 1 =$A$1).

When I change the number in cell A1 (e.g. from 5 to 10), text box 1 still displays the old number (5) instead of the new number (10).

When I click on the text box 1 with a mouse (select it) it gets refreshed and displays the new number (10).

After the clicking procedure it seems to refresh automatically when I make further changes to the value in cell A1, but when I save / close the workbook and open it again the issue is back.

Thanks,
MV.

If you go into the IDE, you can set the LinkedCell property of each textbox to the cell you want its value linked to. That way, every time the cell value changes, so will the value in the textbox.

I have to admit I am not familiar with IDE.

Is there a way of how to make this work through Excel (VBA)?

In reality the text box value should automatically get updated with a cell value change, shouldn't it?

Thanks,
MV
