I have a combo box that is linked to a parent table and it shows the index key of the parent table. I understand why it does this since that's what's in the field in the child table but users need to see something different.
Form data is pulled from tblDeliveriesReceived, linked to tblDeliverableDetails by CDRL_ID.
Combo Box
Name: CDRL_ID
Control Souce: CDRL_ID
Row Source: SELECT [tblDeliverableDetails].[CDRL_ID], [tblDeliverableDetails].[Contract_Num], [tblDeliverableDetails].[Item_Num] FROM tblDeliverableDetails ORDER BY [Contract_Num], [Item_Num];
Bound Column: 1
Column Count: 3
Column Widths: 0";1",1"
What the user sees in the CDRL_ID, but what they need to see is the Item_Num.
I'm assuming I'll need to create a text field in order to do this but I cannot figure out how to get the text field to display the Item_Num from the third column of the combo box or to pull it from the tblDeliverableDetails table, i.e., Select Item_Num from tblDeliverableDetails where CDRL_ID = CDRL_ID in combo box.
Is this possible or is there some other way to go about doing this?
