TEXTJOIN + IF being affected by column position

I have a TEXTJOIN+IF formula which references several columns:
Excel Formula:
=TEXTJOIN(", ",TRUE,IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH([@[Course or programme code]],"*"&Table18[Programme(s)/Course(s)]&"*")),Table18[Unique identifier],""))

The formula works fine when the Programmes/Courses column is the finalmost column on its table. However, I want the column to appear in the middle of the table.

I've tried copying the data over to a column in the middle several times and when I reference this column instead the formula stops working. I've tried renaming the column in case that's the issue, but it really does seem to be the placement which is the problem. Can anyone shed any light on why that might be?

There is nothing wrong with the formula, can you post some sample data.

MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data that will allow us to copy/paste it to our Excel spreadsheets, so we can work with the same copy of data that you are. Instructions on using this tool can be found here: XL2BB Add-in

Note that there is also a "Test Here” forum on this board. This is a place where you can test using this tool (or any other posting techniques that you want to test) before trying to use those tools in your actual posts.

Also in future when posting a formula please use the formula tags (the xls icon) not quotes. Thanks

Hi Fluff, I posted this before but I'm not able to post sample data, or install programmes on my laptop. I just don't have the permissions. I don't think the data makes any difference with this query and I'd really appreciate someone's help - I just want to know about the relationship between TEXTJOIN, IF and column position. Are they related? What difference does it make in general (not relating to my specific data)? I can't find any information elsewhere.

Your formula works for me regardless of where the columns are located.
In what way doesn't it work for you?
