Time elapsed

Is there a way to enter a start date in a cell then to see time elapsed (numbers of minutes or seconds since then?)

If you have entered that Start Time in A1
in B1 enter = NOW()-A1

Format B1 for Time in Mins and seconds.

Note this will only update each time you recalulate (F9).
