I want to create a spreadsheet in Excel 2000 in which I enter my start time, lunch out and lunch in times and show the total hours as 8. I then want to enter a formula in the end time column to show the time I should punch out in order to not go over 8 hours.

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.

Hi Lenze,

Thank you for your response but it does not seem to provide the formula I need.

I want to have 8 hours in the total hours worked column and have a formula in the end time column to compute the time I should punch out in order to not go over 8 hours. I have flexible hours and don't always take just one hour for lunch so this would be helpful.

Thanks. Flo

If:
A2 contains start time
B2 contains lunch start time
C2 contains lunch end time
Put his formula in D2:
Code:
=(A2+0.3334)+(C2-B2)
Format as Time.
This will give the "Go Home Time".
