Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.

Just a shot in the dark, but worth a shot:

Tight-clicking on your toolbar and select "Customize," then go to the "Options" tab. Click on "Reset my usage data" and see if that does anything.

Have you tried view | toolbars | click on Standard ...on and off a few times to see if it comes back

Is it "just" the tools dropdown box not available?

Have you tried exiting and going back in to excel?

What have you lost? Tools menu or toolbar? There's an important difference!
