Traffic lights based on previous cell

I am trying to set up a traffic light system based on the value of the previous cell (left to right) but failing badly. I would like it to be based on :
If the previous cell value is greater then Red, the same Yellow, less then Green.

Could somebody please help as this is driving me mad

You'll need three different conditional formulas:

=B1 > A1 (format green)
=B1 = A1 (format yellow)
=B1<a1 (format="" red)
< A1 (format red)

I'm not sure about that. I've never tried to conditionally format in a pivot table.
