UK Psotcode Map in Excel

I'm trying to create a very simple postcode area map, (AB,DG,G) in excel and then colour the areas based on data in a simple table. The work involved doesn't seem great but what I'm struggling with is finding a map of the UK which I can import into excel and then have each part recognized as a different object, because I think this is probably the easiest way of doing this.

Anyone got any suggestions or an alternative way?

Thanks

Dan

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
Which version of Excel are you using, as in the earlier versions you could use an Excel Map feature then that would work for you as you can link the table data to the map.

Take a look at this link it might help !

Check your add ins and also the Insert Menu your looking for Data Map.

This is a feature that comes with MS Office 2000.

Failing that search the net for inserting data map in Excel 2000.

What have you tried so far?

I think if I wanted this type of functionality the first port of call would be a search to see if someone's already done it.

Maybe even the Royal Mail themselves.

Seems we've been upgraded to 2003 and I didn't notice

I've been using google so far in vein to try to see if there is a map already drawn with the areas as individual blocks but haven't found any yet, or any other solution.

Failing this I might just have try and find someone to draw it out!

Cheers

There are loads of maps with the main UK postcode areas on them on Google or whatever.

Are you actually looking for something where each postcode area is a separate object?

That's not a Google search, that's asking Google a question.:)

Actually, that might be where I'm going wrong - I never seem to be able to find stuff.
