Hi all,

I am trying to do upload of one Excel file for a Powerpivot.

Powerpivot-Manage-Home-From Other Sources- Excel File- Next
Neverthless it appears an error message: "Failed to connect to the server. Reason: Provider information is missing from the connection string. Add the provider information and try again. If you are trying to connect using a Managed provider then choose the appropriate data source in the data source selection page, and click Advanced to pick the appropriate managed provider."

I have Office 2013.

If you could help me please I would be grateful.

Many thanks.

Regards

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Hi Anaalex,

Are you trying to connect to a local file or is it through a server connection?

Have you tried importing the data through Power Query?
