Users cannot save when VB protected

Hi Everyone

I have protected my vba code with a password to lock it for viewing.

When I email this file to another user, they are unable to use save or save as because it displays a message saving it cannot be saved unless vb protection is removed.

This seems to defeat the purpose of protecting the code. Has anyone else had this problem and how do you get around it?

Thanks to all who reply

Regards

Derek

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.

I tested this at my end and I can save the workbook without any problems. Even the users in my network can save this workbook without any hassles.

Its strange that the users at your end receive that message ! Seems to me as a Macro Security issue ?

Thanks for repyling Stormseed.

I thought perhaps there was a company filter on email that might be doing this but it appears not.

I think I have partially solved the problem. It only seems to occur when trying to save to a different version of Excel. If you save to Microsoft Office Excel Workbook it saves okay. If you save it as Microsoft Excel 97-Excel 2003 & 5.09/95 Workbook it prevents you doing so unless you remove the vba protection.

Well I can live with that

Have a great day
