Excel Facts

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
Thank you very much!!!

I learned a great new function today from YOU!!

Thanks for being there.

AGGREGATE is an "under-promo" function in Excel 2010. I like it so much since I found it. :)

Hi jray,

If you're using 2007 or later you can use the additional COUNTA argument that was introduced with the SUBTOTAL function, i.e.:

=SUBTOTAL(103,A2:A5)

Just change the range to suit.

Robert

I've seen both used, but not explored them until today - they look like superb additions to the Excel arsenal!
