guide me to use lookup function in the following statement
if the student get less that 0.175 he will get "D" grade, less than 0.28 "C", less than 0.375 "B" Grade, less than 0.45 "A" and less than 0.5 "A+" Grade.

Excel Facts

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
shouldn't you be using an if function like:
=IF(AND(A1<0.5,A1>=0.45),"A+",
IF(AND(A1<0.45,A1>=0.375),"A",
IF(AND(A1<0.375,A1>=0.28),"B",
IF(AND(A1<0.28,A1>=0.175),"C",
IF(A1<0.175,"D",""
)))))

<TABLE style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffffff; PADDING-LEFT: 2pt; PADDING-RIGHT: 2pt; FONT-FAMILY: Calibri,Arial; FONT-SIZE: 11pt" border=1 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0><TBODY><TR style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #cacaca; FONT-SIZE: 8pt; FONT-WEIGHT: bold"><TD> </TD><TD>F</TD><TD>G</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 18px"><TD style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #cacaca; FONT-SIZE: 8pt">4</TD><TD style="TEXT-ALIGN: right">0</TD><TD>D</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 18px"><TD style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #cacaca; FONT-SIZE: 8pt">5</TD><TD style="TEXT-ALIGN: right">0.175</TD><TD>C</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 20px"><TD style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #cacaca; FONT-SIZE: 8pt">6</TD><TD style="TEXT-ALIGN: right">0.28</TD><TD>B</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 18px"><TD style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #cacaca; FONT-SIZE: 8pt">7</TD><TD style="TEXT-ALIGN: right">0.375</TD><TD>A</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 18px"><TD style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #cacaca; FONT-SIZE: 8pt">8</TD><TD style="TEXT-ALIGN: right">0.5</TD><TD>A+</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

The above is the table to create then if you were to input score in A1
in B1 formula =VLOOKUP(A1,$F$4:$G$8,2,1) for F4:G8 use the range for your table

Without the table suggested above

=LOOKUP(A1,{0,0.175,0.28,0.375,0.45},{"D","C","B","A","A+"})

With the table, F8 should be 0.45 not 0.5
