I have the following text in cell A1

Annual Financial Statistics Survey 2010

I have the following formula in A15

="4. State your financial year that ended on any date between 1 Oct "&RIGHT(A1,4)-365&" and 30 Sept "&RIGHT(A1,4)&""

I am trying to subtract 365 days from A1 i.e it should be s/b 2009 as it refers to the previous year

When using the formula the text should read as follows

4. State your financial year that ended on any date between 1 Oct 2009 and 30 Sept 2010

It would be appreciated if you would amend my formula so as to deduct 365 days within the first use of "&right(A1,4) function

Your assistance in this regard will be most appreciated

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Thanks for the help. I was not thinking clearly at the time just to subtract 1 from the year
