Using = to confirm values are correct.

I'm not sure if I can do this without using another cell, but what I want to do is confirm whether or not two separate sums give the sum answer.

I have in cell B47 =SUM(B38:B46)

I have in cell I15 =SUM(I5:I14)

What I want is for B47 to show as equal to I15-I7

I know I can put =B47-B42=I15-I7 in a separate cell, but is any way I can make b47 give some form of error if the two don't match.

Column B and Column I have data entered manually and the hope is to spot any keying errors.

Thanks

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
So if SUM(B38:B46)-B42=I15-I7 show sum(B38:B46), otherwise show an error?

Try
=IF((SUM(B38:B46)-B42)=(I15-I7),SUM(B38:B46),"ERROR")
