Hello Everyone,

This is my first post here and also my first question.

Every week I extract a data set from a web-service that serves many functions. One of these functions involves action plans that the business has to follow. These action plans have deadlines.

Is there any way that I could visually depict the deadlines which are approaching in some cool and unique fashion such as a radar with dots or something of that nature?

I am also interested in hearing any other ideas regarding how you would represent approaching deadlines in some data visual form.

Thank you and best regards,

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Hi RoadWarrior - welcome to the forum.

Without seeing the data, it is always difficult for members to reply to your posts. Because you know everything about your data, and we know nothing, unless you post an example, we are blindly in the dark. You are much more likely to get a reply if you show what you are dealing with and what you want to accomplish. Otherwise, many folks will simply skip your post.

I would personally recommend against any "cool and unique radars and dots" for your presentation. Generally speaking, many of the specialized chart types in Excel are for specific applications, and using them for a general purpose will distract from your presentation. There are many ways to leverage basic chart types in Excel to achieve a "cool and unique" presentation styles by simply tweaking the settings.

As far as approaching deadlines visualization, you may not even need a chart. You can usually leverage built-in Excel formatting functionality, combined with worksheet functions, to accomplish some "cool" results.

Post back with your sample data, and what you want to see as the final outcome, to get useful input.
