I know the issue is that I am looking at text as well as using numeric operators. I hope someone can help me get around this problem.

=IF(VLOOKUP(I23,Formulas!$A$7:$G$52,3)>0,X23-VLOOKUP(I23,Formulas!$A$7:$G$52,3),"N/A")

Who is Mr Spreadsheet?
Author John Walkenbach was Mr Spreadsheet until his retirement in June 2019.
Can you give some examples ?

What is in X23, and what is the result of the Vlookup?

What do these return
=ISNUMBER(X23)
=ISNUMBER(VLOOKUP(I23,Formulas!$A$7:$G$52,3))

x23 is a date or "N/A"

Vlookup is pulling number of days for a given vendor delivery date. Some vendors the number of days do not apply.
