VB - when can you NOT use the =format() function?

I wrote some code for a friend of mine that used the =format() function to turn some numbers to strings in a specific format (hey, that's what it's for, right?). I scripted it in 2007 Win but I've used the command before on 2002 and 2003 but he got the dreaded "Compile error: can't find project or library" using 2000 & 2003, which I wasn't expecting. I thing worksheetfunction.text() is an adequate replacement, apart from the fact it's about 5 times slower and somehow doesn't feel 'right'.

I'd be interested in some background on this one.

Cheers,

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
It works fine for me ... if you do Tools/References, do you have any showing as MISSING:?

And which references there do you have ticked?
