VBA Code Line to Open workbook from onedrive

Good Afternoon,

what I thought would be a simple project is now driving me bonkers. I am trying to access an excel workbook saved on Onedrive to update it and then save and close.

I have the following line which does not error out but opens a random blank document

Set wkbCashfile = Workbooks.Open(Filename:="https://lgc.sharepoint.com/:x:/s/Lgc/EWg9crnehMFOurAbM9GZt4wB2BanAQE_vg-aWfcBA_gVFQ?e=dLq1SA")

The following is what I hoped would open the actual document [lgc is shortened from the actual]

Set wkbCashfile = Workbooks.Open(Filename:="https://lgc.sharepoint.com/Lgc/Documents/Lgc_Cash_Account_Records.xlsm")

would be extremely grateful if anyone can point out what I am doing wrong or if you can actually open a onedrive document using VBA

Have you tried opening the workbook using the macro recorder to check the filepath?

After a couple of days of looking for a solution finally worked this out

'Open and variable setting for the onedrive cash reconciliation log
Set objLogExcel = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
objLogExcel.Visible = True

'Set wkbStockTransTable = objLogExcel.Workbooks.Open _
'(Filename:="https://lI-my.sharepoint.com/personal/LL/Documents/Lgc_Back_Office/Cash_transactions_table.xlsx")

which solved the issue
