say i have this info

Code:
Sub test()
  vPlayer = "P1"
  colP1 = 3
  MsgBox "col" & vPlayer
End Sub

what i want to return in the msgbox is 3 ... but it's returning colP1 ... how do i get it to interpret the value of the variable rather than the string once concatenated?

thanks

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Maybe I didn't understand

but perhaps you have to take away the quotations around your variable name?

Is this what you mean?

Code:
Sub test()

  vPlayer = "P1"
  colP1 = 3
  MsgBox colP1 & " " & vPlayer
End Sub

NBVC,
that's not what i was getting at...i wanted to reference colP1 by concatenating col & the variable from vPlayer which was P1 so i could reference colP1...but unfortunately like Jon stated...maybe it's not possible...
