Hello all,
I have a master excel workbook for data collection, the file is used to paste data and take data from other files that do this using vba
so no person is supposed to open this file, but obviously some people do.
so i wanted to get around this by changing the file attribute to "Hidden" but vba code does not open hidden file..
this is the string that i use to open the file
Set wbMaster = DatabaseOpen("\\g\files\random\data.xlsx")
can anyone please explain how i could get around this problem?

thanks

Excel Facts

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
This works even if the file has hidden attribute.
VBA Code:
Application.Workbooks.Open Filename:="pathname\filename"
