I am trying to make it so when I click ctrl-q that it will highlight the selected cell yellow, then turn off the highlighting if I use the ctrl-q again. I read somewhere one time how to do it and now I can't find it. I can turn on the highlight, but cant figure out how to make it toggle off.

Thanks

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Try the following.

Place this code in the ThisWorkbook module:
Code:
Private Sub Workbook_Open()
Application.OnKey "^q", "ToggleHighlight"
End Sub

And place this code in a regular module:
Code:
Public Sub ToggleHighlight()
With ActiveCell
    If .Interior.ColorIndex = 6 Then
        .Interior.ColorIndex = xlNone
    Else
        .Interior.ColorIndex = 6
    End If
End With
End Sub

Save (as a copy) and exit your workbook. Then open it again. The Workbook_Open code should run, allowing you to run the ToggleHighlight macro whenever you press CTRL+q
