I am currently running MS Excel & MS Access 2002 on my home PC. I am looking to purchase a new machine and it looks like I am going to have to purchase the MS Vista. Are there any known issues with these two working together ?

Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
I have Vista Ultimate and Office 2007 Ultimate and haven't had any problems whatsoever. There are some challenges in sharing docs between 2007 and older versions, but that can be overcome pretty easily. I've had no problems going the other direction.

I can't think of any problems you'll have running Office 2002 on Vista.

I'm currently running Vista Ultimate w/ Office 2002 on one of my boxes. No problems.

But, note that IE7 on Vista (not sure if it's a Vista issue) leaks some serious memory. It's functional, but you have to kill IE and the IEUser processes (the latter you have to do manually, or it hangs) every other day, or your computer will run at a unusably slow pace.

I have noticed I can "upgrade" to ultimate from the standard edition . sounds like that may be worth the few extra $$.

Ultimate's nice if your hardware can handle it, nice update options, integrated spyware, native image software.

I don't really have a full comparison list, and I need to upgrade my hardware, but outside of IE7 leaking memory (which is noticeable), I like Vista Ultimate.
