Hi, hope someone can help.
I have two databases, the first holds client info and the second hold purchase info felating to clients in the first database.
I have Vlookup formauls with IF functions to return value from the 1st database against the client reference in the 2nd database. On opening the 2nd workbook was very slow in calculating the data, i subsequently set up a 3rd "link" workbook which linked to the 1st workbook table; when i changed the path of the vlookup to the new table in workbook 3 the file opened fine and very quickly.
I cannot understand why this made a difference as the dataset was the same and the vlookup formula was the same in the 2nd workbook, i simply changed the file path of the formula ??!!??
can anyone propose a reason for this?? its got me stumped??
