Hi ,

I have a requirement to automate a web based application, we have a report from which we should take the input data and using that data, open the browser navigate through the web based application, and enter the details in the first column in the application, click on a button parallel to the search result and then again navigate through the new opened window and select yes or no based on the input data from excel and click on submit, perform this repeated activity for all the data in excel, is it possible using VBA macros since i have seen we can open and navigate using vba macro if all the selectors and options could be clicked based on the input data it would be very helpful

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
It is possible to do this in VBA, but it will depend on a few factors; namely, whether the underlying HTML code used by the webapp is easy enough to navigate and whether or not the web app is accessible by Internet Explorer. VBA allows you to control IE pretty easily, but you will need to download and install Selenium (a headless browser) if you want to use Chrome, Firefox or Edge.

If the above is challenging for whatever reason, there are likely other options - Autohotkey could do the job, and Microsoft recently made their Power Desktop Automation tool free - and I expect that could easily do the job.
